My son is into Warhammer40K and knowing this place is so local, is a big plus. The staff are friendly, helpful and not pushy or shadowing you around the shop but allows you to browse. In the shop there is a good variety of old and new stock be that paints, models, books, etc. there is room in the back where they host different game nights and you are able to order food and drink too. I was told the website for here you can sell your unwanted models as well as buy second hand ones sometimes painted as well. This is go to place now as the Warhammer 40K is cheaper than games workshop.
Not happy at all with this establishment we were told to leave after paying 6.50 for a Pokémon tournament apparently war hammer is far to important personally I don't believe 30 year olds should be playing with them self's around small children and would not recommend this back street establishment to anyone
I went to pokemon nights, and was kicked out 30 minutes early because of the warhammer people.
So, last week, it was a pokemon tournament, which we PAYED £6.50 for a pack of pokemon cards and no drink. (which you are supposed to get with that amount of money.) I was disappointed, but i just sad down on one of the tables and started talking and playing pokemon with my friends, until a group of men came over and asked us to leave because they needed the table to play warhammer, even though it wasn't their night and they already had it that week. I was infuriated, but i simply decided to leave.
Very disappointed, 1 star.
Pre-paid for a MTG pre release event, turned up and staff member opened kit in front of me, handed me 6 boosters and kept the promo card. I challenged him as to what he was doing and he replied 'You don't get this' and walked off. Not sure if this is an extreme example of management nickel and diming, or an individual 'entrepreneurial' staff member, but is the first time I've come across it. To anyone who thinks this is normal - it's not.
Edit: Event description from website verbatim: "Store Champs is back! A pre-release kit sealed event in a classic best of 3 format! Promos are permitted in the deck!"
I have found out the hard way, paid for a Pokémon night/ tournament only to get told half a hour later to move as they needed the table for war hammer they used over 3 tables on a Pokémon tournament night which in a small place like that is beyond me??? Felt like once they took my money they didnt care my son has autism and was very upset that night and didn't understand what he did wrong and why he couldn't have his Pokémon night, very disappointed 😞
My son loves going here, very helpful staff and good range of things
Spoke to Will and he helped me find some legendary collection cards. Very polite and thank you :)
Very knowledgeable and helpful, there was loads of warhammer stuff and pokemon cards could be other things but that's the only reason I go in the corner looks like loads of tables to play warhammer
